The American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act of 2020 directs EPA to take action on HFCs, providing new power to reduce down production and consumption of the HFCs that are listed on this list, regulate the HFCs as well as their replacements in order to facilitate the shift to next-generation technologies that do not depend on HFCs.

On the 23rd of September, 2021 EPA released a definitive policy that will reduce this U.S. production and consumption of HFCs by 85% over 15 years pursuant to the AIM Act. A global phasedown in HFCs is anticipated to reduce global warming to as low as 0.5degC within 20100.

The EPA has announced it is going to cut greenhouse gas emissions from heavy-duty trucks and other air pollution.
